During some exceptionally heavy rainfall he noticed that a few drops of water were coming through the ceiling of the living room. The rain stopped and he thought no more about it. However, a few days later another downpour resulted in further water penetrating the ceiling. Again he did nothing about the situation until after several such incidents parts of the ceiling started to fall down. What should have been a relatively simple repair was now a major – and costly – job.

Are you allowing what started out as a simple and straightforward remedy to escalate into what has now become a really difficult, complex problem? Your inactivity, and laziness, has allowed Satan to lure you further and further into his snare. Now it seems impossible to extract yourself from a situation that involves other people, is financially challenging and that would mean an embarrassing loss of face. “Is it too late?” you ask yourself. The good news is that we serve a merciful God for whom no mountain is too high and no problem beyond His power to overcome. Lay that burden at His feet today and allow Him to make things right. Trust Him and His power to affect the repairs that are necessary to make your roof watertight.

“He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap To make them sit with nobles, And inherit a seat of honor; For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s,And He set the world on them. “He keeps the feet of His godly ones,” (1 Samuel 2:8, 9)
